Inhabiting the
pond edge
Gayatri patil
I’m looking for how the act of living with water shapes space. The pond’s edge isn’t a boundary it’s a zone of daily exchange where people work, rest, and return. I want to understand how these repeated actions washing, fishing, waiting, gathering begin to define their own rhythm. People naturally inhabit spaces near the pond without needing direction; their movements quietly build meaning over time. I want to trace that simplicity to find how design can emerge from what already exists, from the gentle relationship between people, water, and the life that grows around it.
